Be a Part of the Project
Participants are asked to submit an offering or item to the project reflecting on their lived experience, memories or thoughts on Truth and Reconciliation.
We are highlighting and celebrating the stories and experiences of Indigenous Peoples (First Nations, Metis and Inuit) and the Black diaspora through creative expression through art making. We hope to encourage people to understand and engage in conversations about Human Rights, Truth and Reconciliation with an emphasis on personal narratives, recognizing intersections of language, culture, resilience, and joy.
We invite community members to reflect on, respond to, and share their perspectives on Human Rights, Truth and Reconciliation and what it means to them. Feel free to express your thoughts in any form you choose! You can contribute by sending in offerings in any form, examples include textiles, photos, texts (poems, writing, essays, notes), recordings, video clips or other materials that represent your own experiences or thoughts. We also encourage contributions in different languages.
Check out the Examples of Contributions to see various ways participants have shared their stories and perspectives.
How Long Will Items That Are Gifted Be Kept?
Gifted items may become part of a permanent art installation. Items not included in the final art installation will be kept until the project end date (January 2025). Any the items have not been used in the art installation, will be discarded in a respectful manner or you may request that the item(s) be returned after the project is completed.
